One of the most important aspects of putting on a contact lens is controlling the patient and the patient's lids. First stand beside the patient, not in front of the patient. Assuming you are working from the patientΓÇÖs right side, place your left forearm on the patientΓÇÖs head. Place the right hand, the hand with the lens, on the patientΓÇÖs cheek. This minimizes the patientΓÇÖs head movement when you are trying to put the lens on and if their head does move some you will move with it.
